SOUTHEAST'S NEWEST PRODUCTION FACILITY

STUDIO CHARLESTON PROVIDES TURNKEY PRODUCTION INFRASTRUCTURE;

EXPERTS SAY IT WILL ALLOW THE STATE TO COMPETE FOR MAJOR PROJECTS

Charleston, SC -- A new production facility is changing the game in the Southeast.

Studio Charleston officially opened its doors on May 12, 2011, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony which was attended by over 100 guests, including State Film Commission officials as well as film industry professionals and suppliers.

Two(2) weeks after the facility opened, it proudly became the production hub and stage setting for a HISTORY CHANNEL production, creating work for local industry professionals and suppliers.

The Studio is a 70,000SF production complex with three stage areas; Studio “A”, a 780SF Studio (with 24’ wide x 14’ tall x 18’ deep cyc wall and make-up room), “Center Stage” and the “HANGAR” stage, offering 19,500SF production space w/40-foot ceilings, private restrooms and offices. The facility also offers class A production offices, executive office suites, conference room, copy center, set-dec/props warehouse with industrial shelving and designated areas for construction and wardrobe.

According to Studio Charleston founder Harald Galinski, it is designed for efficient, high-quality production.  And key to taking the production industry in South Carolina to the next level.

"We believe Studio Charleston will be a major component of the state's production industry," said Galinski.  "Feature-films, TV shows, commercials, music videos, all types of projects need a production infrastructure to function effectively.  And the state needs a space like this to compete for those projects."

Film producer Marty Bowen echoes Galinski's sentiments.  Producer of the Twilight Saga films and other pictures, Bowen's production company, Temple Hill Entertainment, used the facility through-out production of its film Dear John.

"You really can't underestimate how important a space like this is to making major motion pictures," said Bowen.  "Having these massive stage settings in the same space as production offices, conference rooms, and everything else you need to run a project smoothly is perfect."

South Carolina-based production professionals agree, viewing Studio Charleston as a substantial aid to business conducted in the state.

"Film and video production has the potential to bring so much income to South Carolina, " said Martin Bluford of High Output." High Output is one of the Southeast's major production suppliers, specializing in lighting, grip, and camera equipment.

Studio Charleston is located at 620 Dobbin Road, Charleston, SC, 29414.  For more information, contact the Studio Manager Harald Galinski at 843.376.1193 or harald@studiocharleston.com.

SOUTHEAST'S NEWEST SOUNDSTAGE OPENS IN S.C.

STUDIO CHARLESTON PROVIDES TURNKEY PRODUCTION INFRASTRUCTURE;

EXPERTS SAY IT WILL ALLOW THE STATE TO COMPETE FOR MAJOR PROJECTS

Charleston, SC -- A new top-tier production facility is set to change the game in the Southeast.

Studio Charleston will officially open its doors on May 12, 2011, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:00 pm.  Governor Nikki Haley and other state, local officials are expected to attend, as well as industry professionals.

The studio is a 100,000 sq. ft. production facility with three soundstages, 40-foot ceilings, cyc-walls,  production offices, executive office suites, conference rooms, copy center, and designated construction, wardrobe, and art department areas.

According to facility head and Studio Charleston founder Harald Galinski, it is designed for efficient, high-quality production.  And key to taking the production industry in South Carolina to the next level.

"We believe Studio Charleston will be a major component of the state's production industry," said Galinski.  "Feature-films, TV shows, music videos, all types of projects need a facility like this to really function effectively.  And the state needs a space like this to compete for those projects."

Prominent film producer Marty Bowen echoes Galinski's sentiments.  Producer of the Twilight films and other pictures, Bowen's production company, Temple Hill Entertainment, used the facility through-out production of its film Dear John.

"You really can't underestimate how important a space like this is to making major motion pictures," said Bowen.  "Having these massive soundstages in the same space as pre-set production offices, executive suites, and everything else you need to run a project smoothly is perfect."

South Carolina-based production professionals agree, viewing Studio Charleston as a substantial aid to business conducted in the state.

"Film and video production has the potential to bring so much income to South Carolina, " said Martin Bluford of High Output.  "Including more jobs and increased sales for all types of suppliers.  And with Studio Charleston, we can legitimately compete with other areas to bring those revenue-raising projects in."
